Back in April I posted this question on my facebook page:
I’m feeling like I want to write more about my daily experiences interacting with children at risk. Is that something readers would be interested in? Not necessarily parenting, per say, but child development none the less. I do journal about these things, and I feel like just typing up some journal entries and posting them. Any thoughts? Just curious.
I received a lot of positive responses, so it’s encouraged me to start writing more openly. That also means faster, with less editing. This type of writing is going to look more like a journal into my daily life as I work in the slums of Costa Rica with children at risk.
These children have so much to teach us. Everyday they stretch and grow me more into the person I need to become. I am so thankful for them and for this work.
Here I am sitting, typing quickly while the images are fresh in my mind. The thoughts and feelings are still right here in front of me. Before new events happen, as they will, as life keeps moving forward. I feel compelled to write. To write more. To tell the stories as they happen, because they are so rich.
